‘OH YOU OF LITTLE FAITH’

Bible Scriptures: Genesis 45:1-15, Romans 11:1-2, 29-32 & Matthew 15:10-28

The word of God imparts faith to the hearers so that we can believe the Gospel and be saved. Faith is therefore the foundation of the Christian life as it is the only means by which humanity is saved ie Christianity is all about faith since we never actually witnessed the things written in the Bible. In Hebrews 11:1 which states “now faith is the confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see”. It is only by faith that we can gain access to the righteousness of Christ.

It is our faith that enables us to believe that God is with us in the storms of life and that His presence is our victory. Joseph had a revelation that he would be great someday and that his brothers would bow to him. Though it seemed unlikely, Joseph had neither a doubt nor gave up but trusted God through his sufferings. Like Joseph, we should trust God through the challenges of our present times. We should trust God that there is a perfect end which is established.

It is very easy to doubt God in times of trouble. Peter is a classic example to reaffirm my point. As long as Peter depended on the command of Jesus and kept his focus on Him, he could walk on the sea. However, when his attention was diverted to the wind and the waves (challenges), he began to sink.

We all have challenges and we all face one storm or the other in the form of health, finances, academics, loss or lack of jobs, etc., the effect of these challenges depend on whom we focus.

I urge you to remain steadfast in your faith in Christ and what He can do for you if only you believe. You need faith as tiny as a mustard seed saith the Lord and you’d see His hand in everything you do.

Thank you very much if you and made it this far. Until next week guys, stay blessed!
